Pachai payaru kulambu is the simple and best protein rich curry recipe. This goes best with the rice, roti,
idli and dosas. I like to have different varieties of dal in day to day
recipes. So hope you all like it and let me know how it turns out.
Ingredients

Pachai payaru / Green gram - 1 cup
- Any vegetable of your choice
- Onion - 1
- Tomato - 1
- Green chilli - 2
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chili powder - 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 1 tblsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Asafoetida - 1 pinch
- Salt to taste
Method
- Soak pachai payaru for 10 mins in hot water.
- Pressure cook green gram and tomato upto 3 whistles. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds, once splutters add asafoetida and onions.
- Saute it and add boiled tomato.
- Add turmeric powder, chili powder and coriander powder.
- Add any vegetables as your choice, I added drumsticks today.
- Add 1 cup water and allow the vegetables to cook.
- Add the cooked pachai payaru and simmer the stove to 15 mins.

Add vegetables on your wish |
