Brussels Sprouts Stir Fry is a simple and easy recipe which packed with good source of vitamins. Usually I bake the Brussel Sprouts along with salt and pepper and stuff inside the wrap. Today just want to give it try with Indian spices. It tastes pretty good. This wonderful and easy dish has got it’s health benefits as well: vitamin A, vitamin C, folic acid and dietary fiber.


Ingredients

  • Brussels sprouts - 500 gms
  • Onion - 1
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Chili Powder -  1 tbsp
  • Salt as taste

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
  2. Add Brussels sprouts(cut into half), salt and spice powders. 
  3. Cook undisturbed until caramelized.
  4. Continue to cook and stir until the Brussels sprouts are cooked completely.

Aloo Greens Fry Recipe - A simple and healthy recipe. Sometimes with kids its challenging to eat greens, this recipe helps you to feed kids. Today in my recipe I used spring mix. It is pretty simple to make as well. Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you.


Ingredients

  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Green leaves / Spring Mix  – 2 cups
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Onion – 1
  • Potatoes – 5
  • Turmeric Powder  – 1/2 tsp
  • Chili Powder -  1 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp

Method

  1. Boiled the potatoes, peel and cut into cubes.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  3. Add onions and fry it for a min.
  4. Add all spice powders, salt and spring mix.
  5. Saute it for 3 mins. Ready to serve.
Boil 5 potatoes

Fry it for 3 mins.

Pita Pockets Recipe - A quick fix for dinner. After long day work or tired evenings, this pita pockets are the quick and easy meal. It goes best with salad and lemon tea or juice. Hope you like this recipe and give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you.

Ingredients

  • Pita Bread - 1
  • Onion - 1 
  • Beans / Carrot / Peas - mixed 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp
  • Ketchup - 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Grated Cheese as required (Optional)
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Saute onion and vegetables for 5 mins on medium flame.
  2. Add salt, chili powder, turmeric and coriander powder. Cook for 5 mins on medium flame.
  3. Take the cooked vegetables on bowl. 
  4. Add mayonnaise, yogurt, ginger garlic paste and ketchup. Mix well, filling is ready.
  5. Cut pita bread into half. Fill the filling inside bread and add grated cheese.
  6. Serve it with salad and drinks.

Pachai payaru kulambu is the simple and best protein rich curry recipe. This goes best with the rice, roti,  idli and dosas.  I like to have different varieties of dal in day to day recipes. So hope you all like it and let me know how it turns out.

Ingredients

  • Pachai payaru / Green gram  - 1 cup  
  • Any vegetable of your choice
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato - 1  
  • Green chilli - 2 
  • Curry leaves  - 1 sprig 
  •  Turmeric powder  - 1/2 tsp 
  • Chili powder - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 2 tbsp 
  • Oil - 1 tblsp  
  • Mustard seeds  - 1 tsp  
  • Asafoetida - 1 pinch  
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Soak pachai payaru for 10 mins in hot water. 
  2. Pressure cook green gram and tomato upto 3 whistles. Keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds, once splutters add asafoetida and onions. 
  4. Saute it and add boiled tomato.
  5. Add turmeric powder, chili powder and coriander powder.
  6. Add any vegetables as your choice, I added drumsticks today.
  7. Add 1 cup water and allow the vegetables to cook.
  8. Add the cooked pachai payaru and simmer the stove to 15 mins.

Pressure cook green gram and tomato upto 3 whistles.

Keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds, once splutters add asafoetida and onions.

Add boiled pasipayaru

Add tamarind paste

Cook for 15 mins on medium flame
