Mirapakaya bajji Recipe - Milagai bajji - Stuffed mirchi bajji

Andhra Style Mirapakaya bajji Recipe  is an authentic snack from AP.  This is our all time favourite snacks on rainy season. The long green chilies are deseeded and stuffed with a spicy chickpea mixture. A mixture of freshly cut onions and then added over the chilies and eaten as a tea time snack.

For Batter

  • 3/4 cup Besan (gram flour) - 3/4 cup
  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp 
  • Salt as per taste
  • Astofedia -1pinch
  • Parsley - 1/4 tsp
  • Add water to make thick batter
  •  Place besan (gram flour), red chili powder, salt and ajwain in a mixing bowl.
  • Mix it well and make a thick batter with water and keep aside.

For Stuffing

  • Bhajji mirchi - 3
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Mashed potato - 1 cup Boiled 
  • Carom seeds (ajwain) - 1 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chat masala
  • Astofedia -  1 pinch
  • Mix everything really well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Let it cool completely and keep aside.

 Method

  1. Cut the mirchi and stuff the prepared mixture.
  2. Take the prepared batter. 
  3. Dip stuffed mirchi into the batter.
  4. Deep fry at medium flame with enough oil until it becomes dark color.
  5. Transfer into plate and serve.

Clean the mirchi


Cut and clean the seeds and start stuffing


Mix to make batter


Add water to bajji consistency


Deep fry
Ready to serve with onions
