Barnyard Millet Pongal / Kuthiraivali Pongal is a simple variation from the regular sweet Pongal recipe. Barnyard Millet Pongal takes very less time compared to the rice pongal Recipe.
Ingredients
- Foxtail millet – 1 cup
- Moong dal – 1/2 cup
- Grated Jaggery – 1 cup
- Salt - a pinch
- Ghee – 1 tbsp
- Badam crushed – 10
- Cardamom crushed – 1 tsp
Method
- Pressure cook the moong dal and foxtail millet with 4 cups of water for 3 whistles.
- Add grated jaggery, salt and cardamom. Mix well.
- Add crushed badam and ghee, if you need you can fry in ghee.
- Transfer to bowl and serve.
